Um, I ended up kind of writing these as all part of the same canon. I mean, some definitely relate more to each other than others, and I think they can probably be read as standalones, but I think it works better as one fic starting from the beginning. Also, some prompts were definitely followed more closely than others. XD

| HOLY HELL WHY IS CHRISTMAS ONLY A WEEK AWAY |

I feel stressed about this for the following reasons:
I. My last exam is on Monday and basically I am feeling like this about it: Remember how I took Competition law this semester? Remember how I didn't really understand any of it or pay much attention during lectures? ...yeah.
Also, since school starts again on Monday January 4, my holidays do not even span two weeks. I am justified in feeling slightly irritated about this, right? HUMPH.
II. The Doctor Who Christmas Special airs in a week. AND GODDAMNIT I HAVE SO MUCH FIC TO EDIT AND POST BEFORE I GET JOSSED. D: D: D: Crazy Ten, you were not with us long enough for me to play with.
I've finished a number of holiday drabbles, but... um.... they're not very good. And I really don't mean that in a "please stroke my ego" kind of way. They could probably use a lot of editing, but I really don't have time. So I'm debating whether or not it would be too embarrassing to post them as is.
III. I should probably start Christmas shopping.
IV. I think I need to go look at youtube videos of puppies to calm myself or something. *breathes* |

I've been trying to figure out how I should spend New Year's. Basically, I think my options look somewhat like this:
A). Stay in Vermont with my parents. Probably go out with my dad & stepmum like I did last year. Drinking will likely be a must.
B). Head up to Montreal - a place where I feel happy. This will be particularly problematic and confusing.
C).
Suggestions? Recommendations? A hand to hold? |

I stumbled across this video on Youtube last night and it basically made me go :D :D :D, so here it is:
Spoilers through to Waters of Mars. It is very important to note that Crazy destroying-the-universe-by-changing-the-fixed-point-in-time-that-is-Firefly's-cancellation Ten is also crazy hot. Yes.
I had to be up early for a thing on campus today, and winter is wearing me out. So much slush and ice and uncleared sidewalks. Ottawa, your snow clearing is worse than it ever was in Montreal, and you don't even have a mafia so I dunno WTF the excuse is. Basically, I am ready for an afternoon nap, but instead I have to head out and take another exam. *FLOPS* |

I. 2/4 exams done! Today's was even ~en francais~ but I think I conquered it with grace and talent (yeah, I totally wrote all the answers in English). Now I am chilling in the law library, not... doing work... and waiting for kazutakia to hurry up and arrive so we can go eat food. Mmm, food.
II. TOMORROW IS MY THREE YEAR DOCTOR WHO ANNIVERSARY. I THINK, ANYWAY. I mean, on December 12, 2006 I casually mentioned I was watching this weird British sci fi show so that works for me.
Man, three years is a long time. Doctor Who has definitely been my longest fandom experience since Buffy.
III. It has occurred to me that if I get over my apathy towards Shakespeare and bother to watch the David Tennant version of Hamlet this Christmas, I CAN WATCH HIM DIE TWICE OVER THE HOLIDAYS. HOW LUCKY WE WILL ALL BE. Um... someone might want to check in on me on January 2. I'm just saying.

And OMFG, SO FUNNY. I do not know what I like better - the fact that Catherine Tate got the part of Donna despite clearly not doing any research into what actually happened in an average episode of Doctor Who, or the fact that David Tennant looked so scandalized by her lack of knowledge. Fic talk with _thirty2flavors:
Me: A part of me really wants to write a fic where Ten destroys the entire universe. But then, I also kind of want to write a fic where he goes back in time and stops Firefly from being cancelled. THAT IS THE JOY OF CRAZY TEN. YOU COULD DO EITHER. OR BOTH.
Kali: How would you write that kind of fic? Like what happens at the end? "AND THEN EVERYTHING EXPLODED"? ...maybe it could be the same fic. LIRL The cancellation of Firefly is a fixed point in time.
Me: LOL YES. THIS IS WHY HE NEVER DID IT BEFORE. Maybe Fox executives will get eaten by giant dragons.
Kali: I think you should write that fic. Ten causes the end of the universe by changing the fixed point in time that is Firefly's cancellation. I'd read it. |
